Yesterday I hiked (actually hobbled with my cane) for 17:26 minutes straight. I always make sure to get 30 min in the aggregate, but usually need four or five breaks to get this done. It’s mostly my gout and DVT which KILLLLLL me when I walk or even stand. But 9 days on Benedictine CARE and I’m already improving!
My immediate goal is to get 20+ min at >102 bpm heart rate. Research has shown fat, old, broken guys like me can win themselves an acute fibrinolytic effect by doing so. And once I can activate “juicy blood” at will, I should finally be able to cultivate a virtuous cycle and climb out of this hole.
I’m going to hike right now. Thanks for posting and inspiring me to get outside and move, Carol. Cheers!
UPDATE: Mission accomplished! 22min 42sec of continuous hiking, plus my left elbow bursitis loosened up magically and I can use either arm for my cane. That’s a HUUUUUUGE improvement and 2x in a row. It’s working!
