As we close in on another thanks giving I’m grateful to see that I’m actually more prepared than usual. By that I mean after taking with all of you in the groups about tips and practical ideas regarding celebration beyond just the feast aspect of the holiday, I was able to take some “next steps” and it was not a grind.

I spent a good bit of time at the alternative restaurant (grocery store) and I added 3 CARE recipes into my cart as well as the traditional goodies. In the past I have found that once I start in on the holiday binge I continue on over the weekend. My intention is to stay present and open to all the little and subtle joys that are dished up when I’m with grand kids and family. Then have my balanced meals prepared for the morning of and the morning after. And now that I’m prepared I’m actually feeling confident and excited about the prospects of both expressing and receiving love and gratitude. See you all soon:)

Tom, thank you for sharing this! I thought of it often over the holiday weekend.

Holidays have become a tremendous time for me to be aware of how much more loving my presence is becoming to both myself and my family. I remember when I used to wonder what I was all missing out on compared to families that could find so much “meaning” in being together (like it is in the movies we expect to be playing these times of year).

But that has truly shifted now. I do have the “meaningful family” and I am so grateful for the grace that has allowed me to experience that.

Again, thank you for sharing your thoughts with us, Tom!!
